Do Pro Se Litigants Have an Idealistic View of Justice

I won a case today defending my client in a small claims action, leaving the plaintiff in a worse position than if he would have settled with a client. My client offered the plaintiff the amount of damages to which he was entitled under the contract; however, the plaintiff wanted what he thought was just even though he recognized that he executed a contract limiting his damages. This is one of those situations that truly exhibits that settlement is sometimes the most advantageous option for a plaintiff working with a cooperative and reasonable defendant.
