Insurance Journal Article on Recent Decision Regarding Illegal Aliens Has Added Bonus

I recently posted about the two long-awaited decisions concerning illegal aliens and future lost wage claims (see this prior post on Balbuena v. IDR Realty, Inc. and Sanango v. 200 E. 16th Str. Hous. Corp.).  The Insurance Journal reported on the cases, but the real bonus of the article is that Thomas M. Laquercia, whose firm was involved in both cases, gives readers a behind-the-scenes view of the case and its implications.

Two attorneys — named-partner Edwin Smith and senior associate Reed Podell –who work at Smith & Laquercia LLP wrote an excellent article — "Hoffman Plastic Compounds v. NLRB: Have Undocumented Aliens Lost the Right to Recover Unearned Lost Wages as Damages in Personal Injury Actions?"– for the New York State Bar Association Torts, Insurance & Compensation Law Section Journal on this issue (I will be attempt to obtain reprinting rights to the article so I can post it on "New York Civil Law") (see related post about article at LaborProf Blog).
