For those who know me, one of my favorite figures in history is Theodore Roosevelt.  I had the pleasure today of attending a lecture by Paul Grondahl (a writer at the Albany Times Union) who wrote "I Rose Like a Rocket: The Political Education of Theodore Roosevelt."  The book chronicles the start of Roosevelt’s political career and maturation, starting as New York State’s youngest assemblymen.

Grondahl had access to the New York State Library’s recent acquisition of a collection of everything Theodore Roosevelt and Harvard’s Theodore Roosevelt Collection at the Houghton Library.
