I overheard this warning in the Clerks’ Office of the Appellate Division, First Department this morning: Attorneys should not be faxing submissions to the Court.  Although most of you probably already know this, the First Department does not appear alone in this admonition.  I err on the side of caution and fax submissions only when a Judge or Justices directs me to do so.
