New York Court of Appeals Judge Albert Rosenblatt

At the end of this year, New York Court of Appeals Judge Albert Rosenblatt will retire from the Bench due to the State’s mandatory retirement age of 70-years-old.  The Poughkeepsie Journal has recently published two great articles on Judge Rosenblatt here and here.  To sample two of Judge Rosenblatt’s decisions in which he infused his dogged pursuit of historical background information, see two of my favorites:  Blake v. Neighborhood Hous. Servs. of New York City and Morejon v. Rais Constr. Co.

Judge Rosenblatt inspired me, although he doesn’t know it, to delve into the world of Sherlock Holmes.  Judge Rosenblatt and his wife are members of the Baker Street Irregulars, which is but one of their many interests.
